Animation
Accomplishments for Week 6:
Monday: Reviewed animation and music and voted on voice
Tuesday: Edited animation a little and worked on music
Wednesday: Finished putting together animation WITHOUT sound
Thursday: ANIMATION IS IN!
Friday: Nothing
Accomplishments for Week 5:
Monday: Started writing script for animation. Showed the team what we have and continued rendering and making scenes. Robot jump scene is still underway.
Tuesday: Continued to have work on robot jump scene.
Wednesday: Let others know that there is an audition for animation narrator. Still working on robot jump scene. Added transition scene for robot onto Mars.
Thursday: All scenes nearly complete. Rendering a few and making sure we have everything. Also worked on voice auditions.
Friday: Continued and FINISHED voice auditions. We'll come to you if you're (one of) our finalist(s)! Final scene that needed to be rendered is finished (about time)
Saturday: Continued final compilation.
Goals for end of Week 5:
Have every bit of animating finished and be able to render and add finishing touches to the animation
Accomplishments for week 4:
Monday: Worked on the orbiting mars seen and improved camera work. Camera orbit was off, so changed the angles and lighting. Credits were started.
Tuesday: We were in depression with the lack of Dalton. We still managed to get more work on the mars scene and there were additions to the robot jumping with another jump forward/sideways/insert direction here. More work on credits, nearly done.
Wednesday: Door being installed into robot/house (still a work in progress). More work on robot jumping. Rendering started on mars orbit scene. Added saucer. Credits were completed.
Thursday: Continuous rendering... (p.s. we suck at chess)
Friday: Realized that the saucer was flying sideways across the screen with lack of lighting. Dalton and Ladi worked on making materials and experimented with various modifiers. More rendering...
Saturday: Added robot and frog together in a scene. Robot jumping scene still underway, but rendered 4 scenes in total now. Scene 1 is finalized and rendered.
Goals for end of Week 3:
Finish animating the robot.
Accomplishments for week 3:
Monday: Started animating the robot transforming into a house; worked with cameras
Tuesday: finals prep
Wednesday: finals prep
Thursday: Still working on the robot transformation animation; started rendering the animation to see how the transforming looks
Friday: Still working on the robot transformation animation. It's starting to look better, but it takes too long to render. Trying to find a workaround, but so far, it still takes around 20 minutes to render 3 seconds of animation.
Saturday: Finally finished the robot transformation. We needed to remove some of the metal materials because the rendering took way too long (about 2 hours for 3 seconds of animation). Camera rotations on an orbit are done too, so more camera work and lighting are on the way. Robot animation of "jumping" on Mars is underway.
Goals for end of Week 2:
Finish most of the character animating and start animating objects
Complete background and non-specific objects. Start animating.
Accomplishments for week 2:
Monday: Finished up frog; started finalizing robot
Tuesday: Started Mars and finalized robot
Wednesday: Started to finalize concept of the animation and created "robot home"
Thursday: Started working with robot to robot home animating
Friday: Still working on animating the robot and frog. A bit of lag between frog's legs and frog's body synch.
Saturday: Frog body and leg synch is close enough to where it doesn't look awkward. Still animating the robot.
Accomplishments for week 1:
Put up rough concept for animation and started modeling characters and background. Saucer is completed and alien is done.
